On April 10th, 2023, took place in Aegio (Western Greece) a conference on Traceability in the Food Industry, where results of the project titled “Design and development of a comprehensive and documented traceability and quality control system for processed agricultural products and seafood with a focus on the consumer” (RESEARCH – CREATE – INNOVATE, Project Code: FK 80646 / EYDE/ETAK) were presented.

The presentation focused on the application of novel methodologies for the geographical origin authentication of agricultural products, using both stable isotope ratio and multi-elemental analysis. Particularly, results obtained by applying the two methodologies on legumes (Giant Beans from Prespes and Kastoria) and rice (Carolina-type varieties from Serres and Aetoloakarnania) were presented, and the comparative advantages and potential benefits of their implementation were analyzed.
